The artificial insemination project began when emerging farmers erquested support on improving the quality of livestock in the area, which would enable them to particiapte more in commercial beef farming activities. CHDA responded by entering into a partnership with FarmVision, and provided funding to provide quality bull-semen and insemination support services for the farmers.
A total of 251 animals were inseminated in the project, and pregnancy diagnosis conducted revealed a 67% conception rate by end June 2018.
The initiative will continue in 2018-19, due to the success in the initial trial period.
